On December 21st, we gathered in San Francisco to celebrate Palladium’s 2-year anniversary in print. Writers, staff, donors, subscribers, and supporters gathered to celebrate what has been accomplished over the past two years.
This anniversary coincided with the launch party for our latest edition—PALLADIUM 08: Scientific Authority. In PALLADIUM 08 we consider science as a public ideology: is it compatible with the delicate process of scientific research?
This special night was one of laughter and deep conversation with friends old and new. Special thanks to our friend and advisor Samo Burja, who offered to co-host this annual event and spoke eloquently on the why and where Palladium is needed. He was followed up by our Editor-in-Chief Wolf Tivy, who spoke on the concept of the print edition and why we devote time and energy to producing a physical artifact in the digital age.
As we move into the new year, we’d like to thank our readers who have pledged their support to our annual fundraising drive. As a non-profit, we rely on such donations for ever more ambitious research and reporting projects. This year our goal is to raise $300,000 dollars by December 31st, 2022. There is still time to contribute, and no contribution is too small to count! An anonymous Palladium donor has agreed to match every contribution we receive up to our $300,000 goal.
You can pay via card, bank transfer, or Apple Pay here. All donations received before December 31st qualify for a tax deduction in 2022. We also accept cryptocurrency and stock, and pay no capital gains taxes on the full value of a contribution, which can sometimes be advantageous from a tax perspective. You can even Venmo us @palladiummag.
Happy New Year!
Best,
the Palladium Editors
